Best Wedding Photography of 2021

Wow, where did that year go?! And the one before it come to that. The last two years seem to have absolutely flown by. It’s hard to believe it’s almost two years since our world was turned upside down, and for many people those two years are ones we would rather forget and put behind us. But to others, like the wonderful people in the photos you are about to see, they were years to remember for the right reasons.

This post should actually be titled ‘best wedding photography of 2021 and a little bit of 2020’, because I did actually manage to shoot four lovely weddings that year, and I felt it only right that some of the moments from those fantastic days were shared too. I’ve also included some of my favourite engagement shoot photos for the first time.

Like many people, I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the pandemic and the various stages of lockdown we’ve experienced. It was great to have some extra family time during the first lockdown, and only being allowed limited time outside certainly gave me a new perspective and a greater appreciation of the people in my life and the beautiful area in which we live. The impact it had on weddings was devastating though, and seeing my couples and colleagues in the industry having to battle through it was hard at times. Seeing weddings return to their full glory in 2021 was amazing, and although it’s been super hard work over the last 6 months or so, it’s been so worth it.

It was also wonderful to be included in the Go Hen ‘Top 50 UK Wedding Photographers’ list for the fourth year in a row, and to also finish the year in the top 100 wedding photographers in the world (and 3rd in the UK) on MyWed. I’m now looking forward to another year of doing what I love and capturing some amazing memories for more lovely couples.
