ST CHAD’S COLLEGE WEDDING // EMMA + AARON
Emma and Aaron had their St Chad’s College wedding in December. I love a Christmas wedding, and there’s always something magical about Durham at this time of year. It is also a city that holds a lot of special memories for the couple, having met here during their studies at the university. Having also been a volunteer at St Chad’s, it was an easy choice for Emma to get married here.
This is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. It has one of the most beautiful ceremony rooms, with loads of natural light. St Chad’s is also in an ideal location, with the castle and cathedral just over the road. It is also only a short walk down to the riverside, therefore it has many lovely locations for photos.
Luckily Emma had arranged to use the castle grounds for some photos, which we took full advantage of by going twice – once in daylight and again after it got dark.
The couple are both avid readers, so they chose a book theme for the day, with bouquets, buttonholes and even confetti made from the pages of old books. They also brought a crowd who knew how to party! The night ended with a full dancefloor, enjoying Aaron’s ‘eclectic’ music choices (I mean who likes both Abba and Iron Maiden?!)
I’m a recommended supplier at this ace venue, so if you’re getting married here I’d love to hear from you!
