Hexham Winter Gardens wedding // Amy + Tom
Amy and Tom’s Hexham Winter Gardens wedding was a day so full of joy, love and laughter, I’m still smiling now. This was everything a wedding should be, and everyone came with one intention – to celebrate the love of a couple who were clearly made for each other. Amy and Tom had known each other since they were probably too young even to remember, having gone through primary school, secondary school and university together, before being married in a ceremony conducted by Tom’s dad, Andy. You just can’t write better love stories than this.
The fun began as the couple got ready at The Sill, a newly built discovery centre near Hexham. Tom showed just how much fun can be had with a pair of braces, although it may very well have led to a nasty injury or an arrest for indecent exposure. Happily it was neither, and everyone made it down to Hexham for the ceremony intact.
Hexham Winter Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for the festivities – a stunning hall which was formerly a glasshouse, full of festoon lighting and loads of wonderful little homemade touches added by the couple (even the bouquets were made by the bridesmaids!). The venue is being refurbished this winter too, so will no doubt be back looking better than ever in 2018. The gardens themselves are also stunning, and provided a great setting for some lovely natural portraits of the happy couple.
The evening party was equally memorable, with a fantastically energetic ceilidh which pretty much everyone got involved in. Anyway, enough from me – here’s how it looked…
